At-home workouts are perfect for busy moms. You can sneak a workout in any time of day (even while the kids are asleep), you don’t need a lot of space, it’s free, and someone is on the screen motivating you from one workout to the next.
Regular exercise boosts energy, increases mind clarity, offers better sleep, increases strength and endurance, and the list goes on…. These benefits apply while you’re pregnant and well into the postpartum years!
Each of these top 7 best YouTube workout channels for moms brings a different strength, a new approach, and has its own set of benefits. I actually use all seven of these channels on a regular basis and at different seasons, so check out the descriptions to see which channel (or channels) will best help you meet your fitness goals. Only two of the channels are actually primarily mom-focused, while the other five are solid workout channels catered to anybody, including moms!

- New, free workouts weekly: each of these trainers offers new exercise videos about every week for free on youtube. While many of them also provide additional programs, fitness apps, personal training, and guides, I have found all the workouts I need with their FREE youtube workouts.
- Knowledgeable trainers that are engaging: if you got yourself to the workout, you’ve already completed the hardest part! So now you just need an instructor that isn’t going to bore you into quitting halfway through. Each of these trainers is engaging and qualified for their specific niche.
- Suited for a wide-range of fitness levels
- What you’ll need: Aside from the Yoga channels, you will get the best experience out of these at-home workouts by having at least one set of dumbbells suited to your level. You may want to add to your collection of weights later down the road. If you workout on a hard floor, an exercise mat is helpful for exercises on the ground. Also, I highly recommend adding the free AdBlock Chrome extension to avoid ads interrupting your workout if you do not have ad-free youtube.

There are so many YouTube videos (including fitness videos and every other topic), that despite your best intentions to workout, you can quickly become distracted. For this reason, I head straight to the search bar with my intended workout that day. For example, in the YouTube search bar, I may type “lauren fitter first trimester workout” or “heather robertson lower body 30 minutes.” Then click on the “videos” button at the top of the screen, so the results actually show you what you’re looking for.
Alternatively, head straight to the trainer’s channel, click on playlists, and choose the exercise video that stands out to you. Whatever you do, don’t spend your entire workout time trying to decide on one! Choosing your upcoming workout the day before is a great strategy to remove an extra step between you and your workout.
